Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 Aug 2025

This page explains how Convergence approaches privacy today and what will change if we later introduce sign-ups.

1) We don’t store personal data (today)

The public Convergence portal currently has no login, no forms, and no trackers. We do not collect, store, or process personal data about visitors. We do not sell data, we do not share data, and we do not run ads.

The only thing we keep on your device is a small preference for dark/light theme, saved using localStorage. That preference never leaves your browser.

2) Cookies & local storage

We do not use cookies. We use local storage solely for UX preferences (e.g., theme). Local storage is browser-only and not transmitted to us.

3) If we add sign-ups: data minimization

If/when we introduce accounts, our goal is to collect the absolute minimum necessary to deliver a better experience (UI/UX and content customization). Examples:

  • Account basics: email (for login/notifications), display name; password stored only as a secure hash, or OAuth (e.g., Google) without storing the password at all.
  • Preferences: theme, favorite markets/tickers, default timeframes, dashboard layout.
  • Optional content signals: what sections you mark as useful, so we can surface more relevant content.

We will not collect sensitive personal information and will not sell your data. Any analytics we add will be strictly for product improvement and may use privacy-respecting, aggregated metrics.

4) What we’ll use it for

  • Personalizing pages and charts to your preferences.
  • Improving site navigation, readability, and feature relevance.
  • Account-related communication (e.g., security notices), not marketing spam.

5) Your controls

If accounts are added, you’ll be able to review, export, and delete your data. Deleting your account will delete associated personal data from our systems (subject to any legal requirements).

6) Children’s privacy

Convergence is not directed to children. We will not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age where consent is required.

7) Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and indicate the effective date at the top.
